Zichron Yaakov, Mount Carmel
Welcome to the charming hilltop town of Zichron Yaakov where our Israel story began, yet again . Nestled on Mt. Carmel, this quaint village is home to the Carmel Winery and the first community that began planting vines in the land of Israel in the modern age. What began as a simple agricultural community gave rise to a world-class winery, enabling struggling farmers to form a cooperative and not merely survive, but thrive.
We are happy to offer you a number of ‘starting points’ to best accommodate our guests based on your location and desired travel experience, whether from your hotel in Tel Aviv, from the Binyamina train station (see map below) or for a half day in town. We also limit the size of the group to maintain the highest level of intimacy possible. We feel the group dynamic is a critical element of our tours in addition to tasting at some of Israel’s best wineries.
Our public/group tour take you to two of the best wineries on the Carmel. We typically will visit the historical Carmel winery and the caves that the Baron Rothschild built in 1889 as well as the boutique Somek winery, a personal favorite. We also visit the elegant Bat Shlomo Winery, and/or the small but might Posner Winery close by, when we feel like mixing things up. We also visit two of our favorite attractions to bring guests, the Ramat HaNadiv botanical gardens for a scenic and lb and the Boulevard of Zichron Yaakov. the attractions and sites in town, the Ohel Avraham synagogue, Rothschild fountains and gardens, revealing the stories and secrets of Zichron’s streets and back alleyways. Together we gallery hop, visit some of our favorite local artists, savor delicious snacks as we meander around town, glass in hand, and enjoy the thrill of ‘Walking with Wine’.
No time for an all-day tour? Meet us in town for the second half of the day and relish a walking tour down the picturesque boulevard of of Zichron Yaakov
